The magic of Fête de la Musique got us all worked up again this year. It works every single time, people hitting it off with their new found friends, while having an awesome time with the city’s festive energy. After all, Fête is all about uniting people through great music. In line with its main purpose, the 24th edition of Fête de la Musique showcased local artists in 39 different pocket stages scattered across town!
And this year, we did not hold back as we worked a little extra hard to make the Post-Rock/Math Rock stage happen. If you missed it, here’s an inside scoop about how we did it.
1. The Concert Experience
Unlike before, we decided to kick things a notch higher since we want everyone to get immersed and the only best way to do this is to literally build a stage in our event space—to make you feel like you’re in an actual concert. Amazingly, It only took us a day to assemble everything from the platform to the lights and sound system! It’s a good thing we had nice acoustics or else, we’re probably doomed.
2. Our simple booze selections
We made sure the booze menu was so basic that you won’t have a hard time picking! Yup, the list was short but delicious since we only served Ice-cold beer from Engkanto, our fave San Miguel Pale Pilsen and a whiskey concoction from Jack Daniel’s—which BTW, totally kept all of us dancing the whole time!
3. The perfect 12 that defined Post-Rock
Kudos to the 12 bands that went out of their way to flip us over with their outrageous performance, and perfectly defined what post-rock/math rock is all about. Give it up for Tarsius, Fools and Foes, Stomachine, Twin Lobster, Run Dorothy, Luncheon, The Ringmaster, tide/edit, Shaw, Trippy Oh!, AOUI and Tom’s Story. Without them, our stage would’ve been a lifeless and boring AF.
4. YOU.
We’ve couldn’t have made it without YOU, the awesome-st crowd ever! Cheers to everyone who stayed! We were so surprised at how many people went and how great the feedback is coming from everyone. Also, thank you for being responsible and disciplined human beings! We didn’t have a hard time cleaning up cos a lot of you knew how to properly dispose trash! YAY!
What happened to our stage will definitely stay in Acceler8.
Yep, you heard that right! We’ll keep all these amazing memories with us and post em’ in our social media pages so you might want to follow us.
