How to Take Care of Your Health While Waiting for the COVID-19 Vaccine

It’s been a year since the lockdown and while the vaccines are in the process of being rolled out, there has been a drastic surge in the COVID-19 cases in Metro Manila. This has raised a lot of concern and uncertainty once again. So while we wait for the vaccine, it is of the utmost importance that we stay vigilant and continue the best safety practices.

Here are some reminders to take care of your health while patiently waiting to receive the COVID-19 vaccine!

Take your daily vitamins

A person’s body needs the right amount of nutrients daily, and it’s very difficult to reach them from food alone. Daily vitamins help make sure that we get the right amount of nutrients to keep us healthy while also boosting our immune system so our body is protected as much as possible from the virus.

Continue to follow safety protocols

Just because there are vaccines available, doesn’t mean we could let our guard down. Continue to adhere to the protocols provided: Always wear a face shield and face mask, wash your hands thoroughly, disinfect your surroundings, and last but not the least, practice proper social distancing. Stay at home if going out isn’t necessary

If it’s not for work nor necessities, it is still best to remain at home. This is the most effective way we can contribute in flattening the curve of COVID-19 as we avoid contact with the virus and transmitting it to others. It’s been way too long since we’ve seen each other, but for now, let’s continue with our online meetings and gatherings as much as possible.

Stay strong mentally and emotionally

Having a healthy mind keeps us calm and focused in what seems to be like a never-ending pandemic. Being forced to stay at home takes a toll on our mental health and it’s important to address this. This would also contribute positively to the quality of work that we do during this time, whether it be remotely or in the office.

We’ve come a long way and this challenge has been nothing short of difficult, but right now we can see a light at the end of the tunnel with the vaccines. The progress made by the medical experts around the world is coming to life and it’s our job to continue what we have been asked for the past year.
