How We Motivate Ourselves At Home Amidst COVID-19

What motivates you at home?

Whether it’s spending time with your family, keeping a healthy lifestyle, or searching for career opportunities, it’s important that we discover what fuels our motivation—cos while it’s imperative to keep a watchful eye on what’s happening, it’s also crucial for us to stay mentally healthy and productive.

So go ahead, put down your phones and ask yourself “What keeps me going?”. Here are a few things that keep Team A8 motivated and happy:

Thinking of what to do at this time is the least of my worries. What keeps me going is just knowing that my friends and family are all healthy and fine.

– Ludo, Marketing Manager

I usually go to the gym to keep myself active and healthy. To keep myself motivated at home, I’ve decided to take another approach by cooking my own meals. This way, I could learn to make eating healthy and delicious as well!

– Julian, Events Officer

I broke my ankle a couple of months ago and it has been a slow recovery. While in quarantine, I’ve been regularly exercising to restore the full range of motion and functionality of my ankle. I’ve noticed that the workouts and movements that were easy for me before are now extremely challenging and sometimes even painful. Ironically, this sense of frustration continually motivates me to push myself and try to be stronger each day because, maybe, with consistency and sheer will, I’ll have my full physical health back.

– Mari, Senior Marketing Manager

To help motivate myself, I’ve been creating tiny goals for me to do each day. No matter how simple the task, it feels rewarding to cross out the boxes at the end of the day!

– Kristine, Marketing Officer

This recent happening made me realize that family time really matters. I enjoy every minute with my family while playing video games, binge-watching movies, and cooking our favorite meals. They keep me happy and motivated!

– Ashley, Community Officer

Spending time with my family keeps me motivated. It’s nice to binge-watch a series with them. I also like to recharge my energy by setting time to read books.

– Hillary, Community Manager

To help make my time in quarantine interesting and fun, I read books to motivate and inspire myself. Also, given this free time, I was able to clean my room as well!

– Lawrence, Community Officer

It feels like more and more disheartening news bombard us everyday. But with it, comes a few good things too. People are recovering, some are finding ways to help out, and others simply acknowledge the commitment of people who are out there doing so.

I remind myself that there are better days ahead of us, even if we don’t see the end of all this yet. In the meantime, I cherish the small wins to keep me going.

– Bianca, General Manager

What are you doing to keep yourself motivated? Let us know! We’ll happily share it with our community.

Take care and see you soon!
