Other Ways You Can Help Communities Without Spending

Relief efforts for typhoons Rolly and Ulysses are currently underway, and we should continue to support the communities in every way possible.

Many of our fellow Filipinos have been struggling to recover from the damages caused by typhoons Rolly and Ulysses. With this, many organizations have been active and involved in helping the communities that were heavily affected. These organizations have been the voice of these people that are in need and have been the ones delivering donations directly to these communities.

Though with the pandemic, it has been difficult for others to give back due to financial situations. If money is tight right now, there’s no need to feel any guilt because there are still other ways you could participate in the relief efforts!

Volunteer in the community and organizations

There is always room for more help physically. As a volunteer, you could either be on-site where you’ll be directly involved with the community or you could opt to lend a hand in the preparation of all the donations that were given to the organizations. This would help organizations be quick and efficient with providing aid to the victims of the typhoons resulting in a hastier recovery for the communities.

Spread awareness

If money is tight for you right now, shedding some light on the current situation of those that were heavily affected could make a big difference. A number of organizations have been making it known that they are accepting donations for the victims, mostly through social media. Although these organizations are doing their best to publicize their operations, sharing it with your peers could help spread the word and increase the donations given to that organization. A simple share could go a long way.

Initiatives by businesses

Businesses in the Philippines have also started to become proactive in coming to the aid of fellow Filipinos. Some businesses are starting their own initiatives to help these communities by allocating, if not all, a portion of their proceeds to be donated to the victims of the typhoons and to the organizations that are conducting relief operations. Those with reward perks, such as Globe, you could also opt to donate the points that you’ve already earned for free, towards their relief funds for the recent typhoons. Whether you’re a business owner or a customer, why not help out those in need while, at the same time, address your own necessities?

Acceler8 will also help out in the typhoon relief efforts. We want to bounce back together! This is why part of the proceeds from all Acceler8 signups between November 16, 2020 to December 31, 2020 will be donated to the rehabilitation of houses in Catanduanes and Albay. Acceler8 will also be accepting in-kind donations in our Legazpi and Rockwell branches.

If you are in need of a safe place to work while also looking to help the victims of the recent typhoons, Acceler8 could be the space for you! Send us an email at connect@acceler8.com and we’d be more than happy to share more information on our services and our initiative!
