Community Check-In: A Glimpse of the Outsourcing Industry With Strategix Offshore Solutions

As we approach the one-year mark since the beginning of the lockdown, most businesses have made adjustments to continue operations in the new normal. With businesses looking to bounce back in 2021, we wanted to check in with our community to see how their industries were affected by COVID-19 and how they’ve responded to the challenges.

We reached out to Joseph Lopez of Strategix Offshore Solutions (SOS) to gather their insights regarding their experience in the outsourcing industry amidst the pandemic. SOS is an Australian Company that offers high-quality Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) services through its network of contact centers based in Metro Manila. 

How has the pandemic impacted your industry and your company? 

It affected the recruitment industry in Australia because most of the businesses are supported by the government. There are only a few candidates who are serious in applying, looking for work, or even looking to learn new skills or qualifications.

With the limitations and budget cuts for several companies, how have you managed to maintain candidates and customers? 

We have managed to sustain customers by giving them the best support that they can get from our team. It’s good to have a team that understands the current situation of both the business and the client. Providing the best service along with additional team effort makes a huge difference.

How did you manage the change in demand of skill sets that are being looked for by companies? 

Constant communication and proper training with the team is the key to meet the needs of the clients.

Have any new unique opportunities come about for your industry from the pandemic? 

There have been no notable new opportunities yet but we are hoping that things would be changing soon to be able to provide better quality services and grow our company.

How has a flexible workspace helped your company and team in the new normal? 

A flexible workspace helped us lessen our worries in planning on where to put up the business and who to deal with. You have a designated contact person that could answer all your queries and the staff is readily available to assist you with all your needs on-site. Similar to plug-and-play, you can easily just come into the office and everything is already set up for you.
